The Filipino Nurses Association-Norway Chapter was established in 2018 to address the needs and challenges of Filipino Nurses living in Norway. It is important that a non-profit organization exist to understand the phenomenon of nurse migration in the country and create better policies to improve the integration and working condition of Filipino Nurses in the Norwegian social and health system.

ROAD BACK TO NURSING IN NORWAY

Part-time desentralised Bachelor of Nursing Programme to Foreign Nurses Educated Outside the EU/EEA countries.


The programme is primarily intended to foreign nurses who are already living and working in Norway. It is important that nurses have attained the required Norwegian Language level of B2 as mandated by the Helsedirektoratet (Licensing Authority in Norway).


The Filipino Nurses Association in the Nordic Region has an informal cooperation with Western University of Applied Sciences in terms of the programme. Associate Professor Terje Årsvoll Olsen would like to cooperate informally on research works regarding Internationally Educated Nurses and gerontology nursing as FiNAN's chairperson used to teach gerontology nursing to international nursing students.

Programme description for Supplementary education for nurses educated outside the EU/EEC


The programme is primarily intended for refugees or asylum seekers because of the funding system by the Norwegian Government. In case the quota system does not get enough students, the rest of the slots will be given to other foreign nurses without qualification to work as a Registered Nurse in Norway.


The Filipino Nurses Association in the Nordic Region has an informal cooperation with OsloMet University in terms of the programme. Associate Professor Line Nortvedt would like to cooperate informally on research works regarding Internationally Educated Nurses in the future.
